Rajasthan's school in Thar desert remains cool due to its fabulous architecture with the help of local yellow sandstone. This school is at 6 minute drive from Jaisalmer's famous Sam Dunes. School portion is called as " Gyaan Center ". 
Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School in Thar desert in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer where the temperature remains 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than its surroundings. This is designed by Diana Kellogg who is New York-based architect. Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School has a fabulous architecture which is made by Kellogg from local yellow sandstone. For its amazing design Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls’ School has won Building of the Year Award by Architectural Digest India in 2020. CITTA (US based non profit organisation) fund for this project. The moto of this project is girls education and women empowerment. The Rajkumari Ratnavati Girl’s School will serve more than 400 girls, from kindergarten to class 10, from below the poverty line residing in the mystic Thar Desert region of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, where literacy rate barely touches 32%. The uniform is designed by famous celebrity designer Sabyasachi.

The Knowledge Center will equip young women with the tools to further their education and independence, as well as to raise awareness about the issues facing women in India globally.

On this Kellogg said that local materials are used to create the infrastructure which helps in reducimg carbon emissions, and Kellogg opted to build a solar panel canopy as a cooling system on the roof, where temperatures are close to 50 degrees. Both the umbrella and lattice keep the heat away and the elliptical shape of the structure also helps to bring aspects of stability in creating a cooling panel of airflow.
